We aim to use natural resources more efficiently, minimise the production of waste, harmful air emissions and water discharges and recycle or reuse where possible. When it comes to waste management, we look to prevent or reduce waste generation wherever possible so that there is less impact on the environment.
Healthscope has focused many of its business practices on conserving water. Hospitals are typically large users of water fundamentally because of the need to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and sterile environments.
Healthscope is committed to integrating environmental sustainability into planning and design of its hospitals and other health facilities.
We recognise that all employees have a major role to play in protecting the quality of our environment. As such, to achieve our environmental policy commitments, the company will actively provide for, encourage, and support training in environmental issues and sustainability.
