The risk of heart disease is influenced by a combination of factors including smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity.
Cardiologists at Healthscope can check your risk of heart disease with a personalised assessment and consultation which may include:
- lifestyle and diet questionnaire
- personal and family medical history
- blood pressure
- urinalysis
- comprehensive blood examination including tests such as cholesterol and triglycerides
- electrocardiogram (ECG)
- stress echocardiogram if indicated
Specialist doctors will ensure that if you are at risk, you will receive best practice followup treatment, for example blood pressure lowering agents, drugs that lower cholesterol, control of diabetes, etc.
